The chef is John Hughes, born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. He has been working in and around Chicago as a chef since the age of fourteen. Chef on the Roof connects two of his biggest passions in life - cooking and growing the best food possible.

John has been fortunate enough to cook in many professional settings like the House of Blues in Chicago, Bottlefork, and Girl and the Goat. He has experience with a variety of cuisines, including but not limited to Cajun, Contemporary American, French, Thai, and Korean. He looks forward to bringing his combined culinary experience to your table, creating restaurant-quality food in the comfort and intimacy of your own home.
